24 x 36” single-sided posters

This was an awesome independent project that had users submit their designs to help spread awareness for their cause. Among the thousands of submissions, my designs were some of the ones chosen to be featured as art on their social media channels, as well as full-size poster prints that were placed in close proximity to multiple American Red Cross offices.

PROCESS

Ideate
Using pencil and paper, I created over 70 rough thumbnail sketches in an effort to explore multiple concepts.

Digitize
I chose the three strongest mockups with different directions, then scanned them to began sketching each of them in Illustrator.

Design
After seeing them all digitally illustrated, I narrowed down the best concept. Using InDesign, I began creating the layout and messaging for the poster design.

Refine
I ran my design by some colleagues of mine and refined the design based on overall feedback.

Output
Once the poster was finished, I created a print-ready PDF, then began retooling the layout to create digital assets for the client to use on their website and various social media pages.

CONCLUSION

Since my designs were chosen to be featured, I would consider this a huge win! Within 48 hours of uploading my art to their social media, it received over 700 likes.

I am actually terrified of needles myself, so I aimed to create something simple, cute, and charming that would ultimately convince someone like me to overcome that fear and donate some blood to those in need.
